1. Who he is?
Fujii Kaze is a rising singer songwriter from Japan. He started practicing classical piano when he was little after being influenced by his father. Since he was 12, Kaze uploaded piano covers of popular songs on YouTube, which eventually caught the music industry’s attention and led him to make a label deal. In 2020, he debuted with the release of the music video for "Nan-Nan”.

2. First smash hit “Shinu no ga E-wa(It’s better to die)”.
The first time have heard his song was “死ぬのがいいわ”【SHINU NO GA IIWA(It is better to die)】at TV program、 紅白歌合戦【KOUHAKU UTA-GASSEN(Red and White song Battle)】in 2022.

As same as other huge number of Japanese peoples who were watching that TV program, the national popular show on the end of each year, I was very shocked and surprised by how new, original, and innovative that song was. I’m not an expert on music at all, but the way of controlling the pitch was something I had never heard before and sound dropping down suddenly was pleasant to the heart, not only for ears.
At that time, hearing the lyric ;
“♪I prefer you than three time meals in a day,
I prefer to die than saying Good Bye to you without changing.”
I thought it was love song singing about one’s partner, he was involved with.
However, he said that it is a song about his “Higher Self” on the TV program 徹子の部屋【TETSUKO NO HEYA】.
3. Fujii Kaze and spirituality.
I heard that several years ago, he was criticized on line to be religious. So, he had been avoided to say or sing about spirituality. I don’t know why it must be criticized to be spiritual (some people said his father was belieber of Indian holy master Sai Baba,) …so what?
In Japan, people have an image that religion is something scary, because of 国家神道(National Shintoism)or Aum Shinri-Kyou Cult.
Finally, it has come the age that we can talk about spirituality openly.
As a pioneer, he is a messenger of new and very important messages to us with his great, amazing songs.
Those messages are not scary, but very light and comfortable like winds , no obsessions, warm, and love itself.
4. HACHIKO and Feeling Go(o)d.
Personally, I feel very strong sympathy with HACHIKO and Feeling Go(o)d. It might be too strong and too personal, and I’ll tell them some next time.(^▽^;
